Alaraji receives Australian ambassador in Baghdad and heraccompanying delegation

The National Security Adviser, Mr. Qassem Al-Araji
USPA NEWS - The National Security Adviser, Mr. Qassem Al-Araji, received in his office today, Wednesday, the Australian Ambassador in Baghdad, Dr. Joan Lunds, and the military attaché, Colonel Matthew Catel.
Al-Araji and Ms. Lunds discussed joint cooperation and coordination within the framework of the international coalition against ISIS, as well as ways to benefit from Australian expertise in the scientific, economic and infrastructure fields, as well as assistance in the reconstruction of Sinjar.

During the meeting, Al-Araji thanked the Australian ambassador for her country´s embrace of the Iraqi community, praising the good treatment of the Australian government with the Iraqis there, expressing the Iraqi government's aspiration for more cooperation between the two countries, to achieve security and stability in the region and avoid crises.
For her part, Ms. Lunds affirmed that Australia is a true partner and supporter of Iraq´s political process, and that her country aspires to a democratic, secure and prosperous Iraq.


Al-Araji concluded the meeting by stressing the importance of confronting violence, combating extremism, and achieving security stability in the interest of the countries of the region and the world.
